(Not so) Honey Brown Ale…

Friday night we sampled our highly anticipated honey brown ale. It had great flavor. Great mouth feel. It was balanced with just the right amount of bitterness and a smooth after taste. It was everything you’d want a BROWN ale to be. BUT, we missed the mark with the honey flavor. There was a slight honey after taste, but not exactly what we were shooting for. Seth already has ideas to intensify the honey flavor for your enjoyment!

Oh well, we still consider this a victory. Another great beer under the belt!

Coming soon, HONEY Brown Ale #2!

It’s Brew Day!!!

It’s brew day!
It’s brew day!
It’s fin-a-ly here!

That’s a song I just wrote. You have to sing it or it doesn’t make sense.

It’s brew day! Tonight we are brewing our revamped recipe for our wheat beer, bottling our cider wit, and drinking our honey brown ale. Busy, but fun night ahead!

I’m sure we’ll have a review of the honey brown to follow.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Last night we finally got to try our American Pale Ale. If I had to use one word to describe it to you, it would be…

Thisbeerisbyfarthebestbeerevermadebyman!!!

It was crisp and light and refreshing. It was perfectly balanced. It has incredible flavor during and after. It really does leave the mouth watering for more!

I have to give Seth some major props for creating this beautiful recipe. Thank you Seth for my new favorite beer! I can’t wait to get home from work and crack one of these bad boys open!

Regular Guy American Pale Ale, the best beer you’ve never tasted…YET!

Beer…it’s not just for drinking

Beer is truly an awesome substance. As such I personally refuse to leave it relegated to mere beverage status. Whenever possible, I try to work beer into all my culinary endeavors.

I sauté with it. I steam with it. I inject it into my briskets. It is quite the versatile liquid.

One easy way to start cooking with beer is to brine pork and poultry with it. Continue reading
