It’s the first day of the work week for most, so it feels like a Monday but it’s actually a Tuesday. This is good for two reasons:

1) Your work week is only four days long instead of five.

And

B. It’s time for a Regular Guy Brewing Monday (Tuesday) morning update babies!

I know you’ve been waiting a long time for this, so have we. That’s why before I get into a bunch of pretty brewing pictures I have to share a sweet moment of tenderness that only three brothers, who aren’t actually brothers, but might as well be brothers can share.

WARNING: The images you are about to see are of three best friends who haven’t seen each other nearly enough in the last couple months. If you shed a tear, you will not be judged by the RGB guys.

I’ll give you a moment to collect your thoughts, I know, I’m misty too……

Ready for beer stuff? Me too, let’s go! So, Friday night Brian, Seth and I got together to brew our Hot Blonde Jalapeño Blonde Ale. Let me remind you that this was the first time we have brewed since October 24th, 2014. Two thousand fourteen. Last year. Six freaking months. A long time. You get it. Anyways, you’d think we would’ve had a hard time, being that it had been such a long time since we last brewed BUT it was like riding a bike! Actually, somehow we got better? We ended up with 10 beautiful gallons of golden spicy deliciousness and managed a 93% efficiency! Let’s go to the pictures shall we?

Before I delve into the brewing pictures, I have to note that Seth picked up a handy new toy. This is a digital refractometer and it’s awesome!

No more disagreements on what the number actually is and no more looking through a little spyglass type apparatus pretending to be pirates like this

This artsy fartsy shot is brought to you by me, just because I can. Next!

Sparge!

Final runnings in the kettle ready to be boiled.

Boiling, check! Hop additions, check! Whole bunch of jalapeños, check it twice!

Fermentation buckets being filled, it’s absolutely gorgeous!

This brew session was exactly what we needed. All went relatively smooth, got some cleaning done, hit and exceeded our numbers and most importantly, we got to spend some quality bro time together!

Up next, the Regular Guy Brewing Cream Ale. Until then…
