Hello friends! I’m glad you found your way to our site today because I have some really exciting news!
Before I get to that exciting news, I have some pictures of the XPA to share. Friday night Brian and I got together to transfer the XPA to secondary and dry hop the holy living hell out of it! Wait, Brian and I? What about Seth? Where was Seth? Aren’t we lost without Seth?
Come on! We can do stuff without Seth! Well, we’re not going to brew without Seth, but we sure can rack a beer to secondary and dry hop it! He trusts us to handle the easy stuff. Let’s check out these pics!
Holy vigorous fermentation Batman! We still need to revisit the blow off tube method.
Primary fermentation complete! The XPA looks, smells, and tastes fantastic. That’s 3 out of the 5 senses folks.
XPA on Simcoe and Columbus. This is just too damn pretty.
Just about finished with the transfer. Another week and this fine brew will be ready for the keg!
Now, on to the exciting news that I promised way back at the beginning of this post. I have been talking about the “What’s Brewing in the Park” competition in Sparta, IL on May 7th for a couple of weeks now. Remember this flyer?
Sure you do! I know we’ll see many of you there. I am happy to announce that we’ve added another competition to our schedule, just a week later, and it’s right in our backyard! Recess Brewing is holding a homebrew competition on Sunday May 15th from noon to 5:00 PM.
This is Recess Brewing in downtown Edwardsville, right on Main Street. Never been there? Don’t know exactly where it’s at? Here’s a handy map!
This is the perfect opportunity for all of our local friends and family to come out and try our beer without a long drive home. There will be a handful of other homebrewers at the event as well, so you really can’t lose! Get excited folks, May is going to be a busy month!
Until next time…
