Status update…

It has been a while since we brewed some beer, but for good reason. As you all know my wife and I had our baby girl on March 29th and Seth and his wife had their baby girl on April 15th. Family life has overshadowed brewing, but what an exciting time it has been! I can report that both baby girls are in excellent health and are as happy as can be! I think I speak for all of us when I say, if there was ever any reason to skip brewing, a couple of beautiful baby girls are well worth it! I think I also speak for all of us when I say, when the time comes to brew beer again we will all be equally excited!

In beer news, we did spare some time to bottle our latest pale ale. Although there wasn’t much to bottle after our many samplings from the keg, we all left with a little to share with friends and family. This is by far the best pale ale we have brewed. It is quite delicious. I’d offer you a taste if I still had some left! I guess you’ll all have to wait until we brew it again. Maybe this time we’ll brew a double batch!

Until next time…

Hiatus Here We Come….

First and foremost, to all our vigilant readers (or reader), sorry for the lack of communication as of late. Life has been shifting gears for the Regular Guy Crew as of late, but in the best of ways, and there hasn’t been as much free time to brew beer or to even blog about brewing said beer.

scarletFirst, I am happy to report that Justin (or rather his wife) had a baby girl. Her name is Scarlet, and damn she is a little cutie. Just look at that face!

Along similar lines, my wife and I will be welcoming a baby girl of our own into the world next Monday. I will be sure to post photos of her just as soon as I can.

Worry not though. This ain’t no cute baby blog. This is a blog about brewing beer. And there is still much to discuss. Continue reading

Many apologies

I must start with a big fat I’m sorry! I know all of our two followers were anxiously awaiting the pictures and/or video I promised for Friday night’s brew session. I’m not going to beat around the bush or try to sugar coat it.

I cannot tell a lie…I got to drinking and I forgot all about it. I dropped the ball, and I hope the two of you can forgive me.

As far as Friday night’s session is concerned, we kicked some ass! Seth’s brew tech stuff is an out-of-this-world creation! Brewing is so efficient now! As far as the beer, I’m pretty excited about the new Pale Ale recipe. It’s hops aroma and bold taste were a great start to what will hopefully be an amazing beer! This will also be our first time dry hopping. Exciting stuff!

On a different note, we opened up our Milk Stout. While still a bit premature, it  had great flavor. It was smooth and thick and it was black as night! Another couple weeks and she’ll be ready.

In summation, I apologize for not keeping my word with pictures and/or video and we had another successful brew day!

Until next time.

Just a quick little update…

Hello all you Regular Guy lovers! I know it’s early in the week, but I’m more than just a little excited for this Friday night. The time to brew will again be upon us and we are brewing a completely new Pale Ale recipe!

Will the new recipe replace the old? Will the old triumph in the battle to end all beer battles? Will I ever get a date for prom…wait?

I’m going to update you live from brew night. I may take pictures and/or video and post it right here at http://www.regularguybrewing.com. It’ll be like you have ringside seats to that underground wrestling thing you’ve never really heard about, but you think you remember someone saying something about it or a similarly related subject and you kind of think you know what I’m talking about. Sort of.

Keep in mind folks, I’m passing up an opportunity for an epic night of Gears of War Judgement debauchery for this brew…so you know this is gonna be huge!

Stay tuned!!!!!
