Rocks, Brooms and BEER.

Before I delve too deeply into the dulcet tones of my own typing, let me take a moment to issue a sincere apology for not blogging much (at all really) over the course of the last few months. I don’t really have a good reason for my online absence, so please let me offer a few completely fabricated and generally nonsensical reasons for my lack of writing:alien-beer

  • My dog ate my laptop.
  • I was being held hostage by underwear gnomes.
  • I had to go on a long soul searching journey to find myself again.
  • I was on a drug and hate crime fueled bender.
  • I was busy training a monkey to ride a dog.
  • I discovered the meaning of life…but then forgot it.
  • Aliens. Don’t ask for details. It will only bring back the nightmares.
  • I was just too gassy to type.

So now that those feeble excuses are out of the way, let’s turn to the here and now.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Brewing Season!

As we’re closing in on March and the weather is starting to warm up all I can think about is dusting off the old brewing equipment and jumping in head first. Like I’ve said before we don’t at the current time, have a climate controlled brewing space and brewing beer in -20° weather isn’t ideal. However, things are starting to unfreeze and the weather forecast is calling for BEER! And lots of it!

I also have some pictures of from our last meeting that I’m going to post as soon as I get done photoshopping my abs.

Until next time babies!

What do the Regular Guys love?

The question we get asked time and time again is, “aside from beer and brewing beer, what else do you guys love?” No one asks us that, but I will tell you what else we love regardless.

1. America

2. Hockey

Just so happens a little hockey team known as the United States of America is playing in some kind of tournament called the Olympics, maybe you’ve heard of it.

Anyway, the Regular Guys live in the St. Louis area and are huge fans of the St. Louis Blues (before they started playing so well, no fair weather fans here folks)  which just so happened to send 10 of their players to the Olympics this year. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Even more impressive three of our Blues, David Backes, TJ Oshie and Kevin Shattenkirk are playing for the good ol U S of A!

So I know I’m a little late for an update on today’s 7-1 win over Slovakia, but I really just want to highlight one of the goals by our own David Backes!

Congratulations to all of the players chosen to represent their respective countries. What an honor.

USA! USA! USA! (and Regular Guy beer too yeah!)

And now something BEER related…

Now that I have that 90’s clubbin’ song and terrible movie reference out of my system I can talk about something related to beer. Glorious, wonderful beer!

This winter, the weather has been less than cooperative for beer making when brewing in a non climate controlled environment. Negative temperatures and 8 feet of snow are not ideal brewing conditions. This would explain our lack of posts as of late because frankly, we just haven’t had much going on. That stops now!

The Regular Guys got together a couple of weeks ago and had a meeting of the minds. Plans were made, schematics were drawn and coal was turned into diamonds with our bare hands! Okay, so diamonds weren’t really hand squeezed that night, I mean that takes a lot of pressure, more than any man can produce, and we didn’t really draw schematics, I took some notes in my notebook, BUT we did make brewing plans for the warmer temperatures ahead and drank some good beers in good company.  We now have six (6) count them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 six mainstays for the Regular Guy brand that we will be perfecting over the next spring, summer and fall.

Plus, we know how much you hate not hearing from us so we are going to make a commitment to you to keep you updated more often. Even if it means posting nonsense like an excerpt from a crappy 90’s clubbin’ song. Seriously, we can’t afford to lose all of our 2 followers (thanks mom!). We also have some fun surprises coming up involving our second passion, video production! What could it be? Calm down grandma, you’ll have to wait.

Until next time.
